Written on Thursday, July 17th, 2014 at 12:22 pm

The BBC have been filming at Celtic Manor for a documentary to be released in the Autumn. Unfortunately wherever the camera was, I seemed to find chaos including broken lifts and music stands falling over. Let’s hope it doesn’t make the final edit! The hotel has also been busy with the Celebrity Ryder cup. Stars […]

It’s quite exciting as this year seems to be very different. Last week I had the pleasure of playing at Cardiff Museum in the beautiful impressionists gallery with the trio. After taking January off to go travelling, I came back to teaching Jazz on a day course in Cardiff, sponsored by Camac. The course had 28 willing pupils, whom after a few hours were all swinging and some even ventured into improvising! The day was great fun and it ended with a concert for the […]

Last week was great fun. My trio played for the opening night at Penarth Pavilion and found out that we were the first musicians in 50 years to play there…what an honour. It was really successful and the swinging 40s night was the perfect atmosphere to compliment the venue. This week has seen storms with […]

Written on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013 at 10:50 am

The last 4 weeks have been incredibly busy with beautiful weddings in Liverpool, Watford and of course, the stunning Le Manoir. Touring around Yorkshire and Cardiff with singer Joanne Thomas has also been huge amounts of fun. We were performing in homes with people with dementia and had the most wonderful responses.   I have […]

Summer…where did that go?

Written on Friday, September 13th, 2013 at 9:47 am

Schools are back and weddings are slowly getting less and time to mull over what’s next. It has been a great summer with some incredible weddings. Last week, Jo and I were playing for the most beautiful outside wedding at Le Manoir. It was a perfect day, with sunshine and no wind and we were […]

Weddings, radio and books

Written on Monday, July 29th, 2013 at 11:49 am

It has been a great period with lots of functions in beautiful venues and brides. Last week I had the pleasure of playing for a gentleman who worked for a fashion magazine. The event was held in a stunning house in bath and I was playing in the grounds, next to a lilly pond. My […]

It has been a fantastic yet sad week with my Graduation in St David’s Hall for my Masters in Jazz. Saying goodbye to everyone after two years, with the hope that we will meet again one day. The sun was shining and luckily I managed to get across the stage without tripping over or losing […]
