Amanda Whiting
Harpist
Amanda is a classically trained harpist who furthered her studies with a Masters in jazz.
She is celebrated for her innovative approach to the instrument. Seamlessly blending classical technique with soulful improvisation, she has carved out a distinctive space in the harp world and beyond.
Inspired by legends like Dorothy Ashby and Alice Coltrane, Amanda’s music is rich with rhythm, harmony, and emotional depth. Her acclaimed releases on Jazzman Records and First Word Records, along with performances on global stages have established her as a pioneering force in modern jazz harp.
As well as a performer, she is an educator and currently teaches jazz harp at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff and The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Amanda has become a specialist in the field of Jazz harp. From performing at Festivals around the world, to teaching in Conservatoires across the country. Jazz has become her passion. She specialises in teaching the bridge from classical to jazz.
Composer
Her series of Jazz harp books is featured across the harp syllabuses with 33 pieces on Trinity College London and ABRSM.
With 8 albums to her name, she is a leading composer for jazz harp.
Recording Artist
Amanda is a go-to harpist for session music. She has appeared on numerous recordings including Chip Wickham, Greg Foat, Rebecca Vasmant, Catching Flies, DJ Yoda, Adam Scrimshire and Kaidi Tatham.

Current Work
Amanda is currently writing a new series of books and collaborating for her 9th album. Throughout the year, practise is a constant, along with rehearsals for festivals and concerts.
Educator
Amanda holds a prestigious online Harp Column Academy Studio.
She is a visiting tutor in Jazz harp for numerous music conservatories across the country as well as teaching online workshops.
