It’s been an amazing week. Starting with playing at Le Manoir for a very romantic Valentines proposal. Set outside in the beautiful grounds, with snow on the floor, I was honoured to be part of the most beautiful setting and occasion. Luckily she said yes!

On Friday, the Lyon and Healy Awards came to Cardiff…a real first! So, Tony Robinson and I decided it was the perfect platform to launch our new book. The book is for advanced harpists and covers jazz arrangements of Danny Boy, Make you feel my love, Nature Boy and  a new piece called Blues on the Mynd. Hopefully we can get those feet moving and get harpists playing some more jazz. On Friday afternoon I was really pleased to give a talk on how to arrange for jazz harp and this was followed by the most amazing Jazztime concert in the foyer.

After weeks of preparation, our group ‘The Whiting on the Wall’ (with Tony on drums and Deej Williams on bass) was joined by hundreds of people for the regular jazztime evening. With guest singer Jonas Seetoh (with the most stunning, silky voice) and brilliant saxophonist Glen Manby, we had a ball.  We played music from Night in Tunisia to Britney Spears’ Toxic…it was a real buzz.

Here’s to the next one…..

Also, here’s a little interview from this week:
