Schools are back and weddings are slowly getting less and time to mull over what’s next. It has been a great summer with some incredible weddings. Last week, Jo and I were playing for the most beautiful outside wedding at Le Manoir. It was a perfect day, with sunshine and no wind and we were outside next to a flower-covered pagoda. The music was all new to us and included, Nick Drake, Billy Joel, Counting Crows…… it was a challenge but it worked!
This week has been busy playing for the elderly in homes around the area. We have been performing music from the war years and getting them to sing and dance. It’s always great fun and so rewarding when you are able to be part of making someone smile.
Today I am off to the Cotswolds for a wedding, before a birthday weekend off to relax. Tuesday sees the launch of a new book about harpists which I was kindly asked to be be part of and then next week sees the start of another tour….. then maybe some thoughts will head towards Christmas!..
