A busy few months

I should apologise for not having written any sooner. It has been an exciting period in my life. Back in April, I was absolutely honoured to play at Edinburgh Harp Festival with my trio as well as teaching at the festival for the week. We received such a warm welcome and we had a ball.

In July, I was so pleased to go and teach jazz harp to the classical harp department in the Royal Welsh College. This will continue into 2016 and hopefully we will get some harpists rocking, possibly with their Bach!

The new Trinity Syllabus is out and Pedalsliders (Tony Robinson and myself) have 8 pieces on it. Its very exciting as we are now working on another series of books…so watch out!

As well as beautiful weddings across the country, usually in Le manoir or Celtic Manor, I have been indulging in my passion for jazz, holding the fort for Rachael Gladwin in Matthew Halsall’s band.

September was so exciting for me as I got to go to Johannesburg and perform in front of thousands. It was a huge buzz. We also lucky enough to go on a mini safari and were treated to a wonderful tour after visiting very moving places of history linked to Mandela. It was a roller coaster 6 days and will never be forgotten.

The band are incredible and I was lucky enough to play live on Radio 6 a few weeks ago promoting the new album. This culminated in a performance in Hastings, the iconic Union Chapel, London and then Hamburg at the Uber Jazz Festival. Unfortunately I can’t join them in Penang as December sees a Lost Chord tour and lots of beautiful Christmas events.

I hope the next few months will be just as exciting, but for now I am enjoying the last few months and all the experiences, fantastic audiences and phenomenal musicians that I have been lucky enough to work with.
